Object Data:  The aurora on October 30, 2003 was the result of a massive Coronal Mass Ejection from a couple of active sunspots.  This aurora was a little bit of a surprise since we were approaching a period when the number of sunspots and thus the number of aurora were on the decline.  I was determined to make it out the observatory to shoot some images of this bright aurora.  I stopped to take a few images before I got to the observatory because the aurora was incredibly bright and looked awesome behind this abandoned farm house.  I am glad I stopped to shoot the aurora when I did because it tapered off after this shot.
