Image was taken on February 27, 2004. This image was my first attempt at taking star trail pictures with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel. Fifteen two minute shots at 18mm, f/6.3 and ISO1600. The images were later stacked using the Lighten Layer function in Photoshop. The Iridium flare was a pleasant surprise. To reduce the gaps between successive exposures a final duplicate image was made, rotated, then added to the original using the same Lighten function . The results are very impressive considering a first quarter moon illuminated the entire sky. The orange glow was caused by low level clouds and light pollution.
