LZR-532Kit– 532nm Green Laser with battery, charger, adjustable rings and universal mounting bracket. This laser has been tested under extreme cold conditions. It will operate at below freezing temperatures with a small decrease in energy output. Large Laser Holder. Designed for holding larger green lasers like the 532nm shown in the images on this page. Includes two 50mm three point adjustable rings. When properly aligned in the rings and additional set screw can be used to press the ON/OFF button of the laser. The laser holder includes a flat plate which includes a 1/4×20 tapped hole as well as a slot for a 1/4 button head screw. Can be mounted to many surfaces.

I purchased the whole kit, the LZR-532KIT. The kit includes the adjustable rings so once mounted on your scope you can set it up the same as you would a finder scope. I have both still. You can then use the laser as a finder without having to get down on you knees when siting objects high in the sky.
The laser itself is very bright so I have to remember to be careful. It is too bright to be used as a laser pointer for powerpoint demonstrations as the reflection of the TV screen is dangerous. I have a 5watt green laser that I use that I use for powerpoints.
The laser comes with a rechargeable 3.0v battery however you can shorten the barrel by unscrewing one section and power with an off the shelf, non rechargeable 123 battery. I keep one of these in my kit for emergencies.

Battery arrived discharged and the supplied charger refused to charge it due to its low initial voltage (2.1v). I recovered the battery by using my own professional lithium battery charger.

The laser is great, but there is no way to mount it to a telescope. The mounting bar is rectangular in shape, not a dovetail. It might be possible to attach it with one screw, but it takes two screws to keep it from rotating.

Larry, the following is from the owner of ADM Accessories – Anthony Davoli: The small attachment block was designed to mount to one of the ADM clamps (DPA, VPA or DVPA). One bolt should be more than adequate to secure a laser that weighs a few ounces. You can add some double sided tape between the block and the clamp if you want to use the laser as a handle.

One Year Review…..
This is my GOTO laser Pointer….
if u live in a Urban area this is the ONE to get hands down !!!!! I live in the Bronx NYC …. all other Beams I had are skinny and hard to see or if it’s New York Cold in December gave spotty performance because of the tempurture ….I get a Nice size beam of steady green laser lite .Very pleasing and impressive to look at … I appreciate the Eco friendly rechargeable battery ….I appreciate the mounting plate ALTHOUGH !!!
ADM can we please have some more options to make this even better??
I wish there where FinderStalk … or option for a show of sorts. …. I finally settled on a mini ball head attached to the 1/4 ‘ input of the ADM plate and the other 1/4’ side to my Telescopes Clamshells” 1/4 ….
Because the Laser Kit is on a Ball Head alignment alignment between eyepiece and laser is really really fast ! The ability to accurate point out stars to the young and elderly is very EZ!! The Green beam is also impressive …..BUT….
I kinda wish the on / off button could be improved …. or better said the manner in which you turn on the beam in my opinion could be updated / improved on
The laser ALWAYS has to be arranged in a way so that the the on / off screw can physically touch the button to turn on the beam … in a dark night it can be very ANNOYING to try and realign the screw and button again!!! …. which is the reason why I use this on a mini ball head ….
Lastly to improve safety and to better follow proper Laser etiquette ( I live close to airports and copter ) I wish that there was an option to use it with an external momentary on / off switch … (similar for Rifles …. ) with the other brand I have it has it attached so that I can “pulse” the beam instead of a steady constant ON … this beam is that bright that I think it needs this option. …. also because it can cause the shakes in the middle of the night when u try to find the screw
Over all this piece of gear is worth every penny …and would recommend for Astronomy Use
