Fits D Series or V Series dovetail bars. Convert your SkyWatcher SolarQuest to accept D Series or V Series dovetail bars. Incorporates a split clamp design that grips the dovetail bar along the entire surface of the saddle and will not dent or scratch the dovetail bar. The dovetail clamp has a large locking knob for tool free operation, spring loaded jaws, anodized aluminum and stainless steel construction. 2.0″ Long, 4″ Wide, .75″ Thick, Wt. 12 oz.

Was a little hesitant as not wanting to take off screw cover as unsure if scope would still line up with solar sensor after installation. Shouldn’t have been as excellent item with holes exactly where they needed to be. Only minor realignment needed which is needed anytime scope changed. Much more secure mount now then on original.

Some users may be initially confused on how to attach this so that the scope is horizontal in line with the solar camera.
When mounting the black disk, use the existing 4mm screws to the holes at 12,9, and 3 o’clock position, leaving the original screw from the 6 o’clock position blank Then mount the dovetail clamp so that it will hold the scope parallel to the solar camera by using the supplied Socket head screw to the center hole, and using a 20mm long 4mm metric screw with washer for the bottom hole. Great modification, and holds my $3000 scope much more securely.
