Using this to counteract the added weight of a 2″ star diagonal and heavy eyepiece, and also a prime focus mounted DSLR. The 3.5# weight is a bit heavy for either of these two configurations so I’d recommend the 1.75# weight. I found a “sweet spot” that works for both. The installation of the dovetail bar on my old Celestron NexStar 8 GPS was simple and quick. Overall I’m pleased with this product.
